PCAN-FMS Simulator is a software tool for generating Fleet Management System (FMS) data on a CAN bus. It enables engineers and testers to emulate standardized J1939/FMS messages that represent key vehicle signals—such as vehicle speed, engine RPM, fuel consumption, odometer, and temperatures—so telematics devices and applications can be validated without using a live vehicle.

The application provides real-time control of signal values, configurable message rates, and the ability to start or stop specific parameter groups, making repeatable lab setups straightforward. It typically supports extended (29-bit) identifiers used by J1939 and may include options for loading presets and logging or replaying CAN traffic. Common use cases include bench testing ECUs and gateways, integrating and verifying data loggers and modems, regression testing fleet applications, and training or demonstrations where a predictable vehicle data source is required. A compatible CAN interface is required.
